Dragon Pony’s big baby step: Next-gen K-pop band sells out 1st Taipei concert, showcases rookie strength

February 27, 2025, SEOUL, KOREA – Dragon Pony, one of the most promising rookie K-pop boy bands in the music scene, has sold out tickets for its 1st-ever solo concert in Taipei, Taiwan.

The four-piece band ― consisting of vocalist An Tae-gyu, bassist Pyun Sung-hyun, guitarist Kwon Se-hyuk, and drummer Ko Gang-hun ― is set to play the “Dragon Pony 1st Concert ‘Not Out’ in Taipei” on May 24. Tickets for the upcoming show sold out immediately after going on sale, demonstrating the band’s growing presence in Asia.

Dragon Pony will head to Taiwan shortly after its Seoul concert on May 3-4, aiming to heat up the country with a performance full of youthful passion and energy.

‘Not Out’ EP

“Not Out” ― a baseball term referring to the moment when a batter gets an additional opportunity to run as a base runner after being in a strikeout ― is also the title of Dragon Pony’s forthcoming 2nd EP, which will drop on March 19. For “Not Out,” the band will present the zealous music of “incomplete boys,” unfolding the story of its endless chase for dreams amidst the uncertainty of youth. The EP is already at the center of attention, with the band’s artistic concept films featuring the members sparking high anticipation for its comeback.

After the album’s release, Dragon Pony will hold its 1st solo concert in Seoul before continuing its run in Taipei. However, this is not the band’s first time taking the stage in Taiwan. On Feb. 22, it performed at the large-scale EMERGE FEST 2025 in Taichung, enthralling the audience with tracks like “Waste,” “Earthquake” and “Traffic Jam.” It also generated buzz for collaborating with the popular Taiwanese band TRASH to perform TRASH’s beloved song, “Heavyhearted Loser.” For its upcoming Taipei concert, Dragon Pony plans to stir up even more excitement with enhanced performance skills and stage presence.

Antenna’s 1st boy band

Dragon Pony is the first boy band launched by Antenna, home to prominent musicians including KYUHYUN and Jung Seung-hwan. After arriving on the music scene in September with the five-track EP, “POP UP,” Dragon Pony has been carving out its own niche with musical prowess. All four members, who excel in writing lyrics, composing, and producing, took part in the creative process of “POP UP” ― a rare move for a fledgling band.

“POP UP,” fronted by the lead single of the same name, shows Dragon Pony’s determination to bring a fresh wind to the music industry with its unique, boundless sound. The lead track is about the “incomplete boys,” who are willing to forge their own paths instead of following established routes.

In the wake of its debut, Dragon Pony commanded the stage at major festivals in Korea including the 2024 Busan International Rock Festival and the Grand Mint Festival 2024, while embarking on a nationwide club tour. In December, the band also became the talk of the town among Thai fans for its gripping performance at the local festival, Big Mountain Music Festival.
