IVE, KiiiKiii spark wave – WOODZ, Dragon Pony ride next: Kakao Entertainment male artists extend global winning streak

March 12, 2026, SEOUL, KOREA – WOODZ, Dragon Pony, MONSTA X and hrtz.wav – male artists from Kakao Entertainment are shaking the global music scene, each carving out a unique niche with their distinct musical styles. Following the notable performances of female acts such as IVE and KiiiKiii – who entered the Billboard Global 200 chart with their songs “BANG BANG” and “404 (New Era)” while topping major domestic charts earlier this year – male artists are now taking up the torch.

WOODZ (EDAM Entertainment)

After “Drowning” became the most-streamed song in Korea’s major platform last year, WOODZ is keeping his victories rolling in 2026. He put out his first full-length album “Archive. 1” on March 4 – his first in 13 years. He will also kick off the “2026 WOODZ WORLD TOUR ‘Archive. 1,'” spanning 17 cities including Tokyo, London and Paris, with the first leg taking place at Incheon’s Inspire Arena on March 14-15.

“Archive. 1” is a palette of WOODZ’s ever-evolving musical colors. Upon its release, the album hit the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 9 countries/regions, as well as multiple charts in Korea. It offers 17 self-written songs across diverse genres including rock ballad, pop-punk, jazz, and alternative R&B. Leading the album are the band-driven “Human Extinction” and the addictive “NA NA NA.” The former explores the duality of light and humanity, raising a thought-provoking question about how to define human beings between perfection and imperfection. “NA NA NA,” marked by powerful and refreshing vocals and rhythm, tells the story of someone who falls in love in an instant.

“With this album, I will move beyond my preparation stage and make a starting point for a full-fledged leap forward,” WOODZ said.

Dragon Pony (Antenna)

Dragon Pony, one of the best rookies in the Korean band music scene, released its third EP “RUN RUN RUN” on March 10, which carries five songs including the lead track “Oh Perfect!” All four members –  vocalist An Tae-gyu, bassist Pyun Sung-hyun, guitarist Kwon Se-hyuk, and drummer Ko Gang-hun – served as the EP’s main producers, living up to their reputation as a self-producing band. Simply put, the album carries forward Dragon Pony’s growth story of imperfect youth, showing its determination to trust itself and proceed amid countless choices.

Oh Perfect!” captures the cry of youth willing to live as they are, rather than following the standards set by the world. The message is built on dynamically layered instrumental arrangement and powerful performance, combined with a fast-paced rock sound. Also included in the album are “Palm Lines,” which likens the time that has passed to the lines on one’s palm. “Zombie” depicts people’s passionate devotion, while “Rehearsal” captures a reality that cannot be changed, yet conveys the determination to move forward. “Hidden” subtly unravels deeply hidden emotions.

“I think now is the time for us to start moving forward. That’s why we chose ‘RUN RUN RUN’ as our album’s title,” An said. “With this album, we want to firmly establish Dragon Pony’s musical identity.”

Pyun echoed that sentiment and hinted at its global activities, saying, “We tried to honestly convey the anxieties of youth through our music. I hope more people find our message relatable. We also want to enter multiple music charts, stage many performances, and hopefully share news about our solo performance soon.”

MONSTA X (Starship Entertainment)

“K-pop’s performance powerhouse” MONSTA X, currently on its world tour “THE X : NEXUS,” will drop the new album “Unfold” in the U.S. on April 3, unveiling a new narrative and sound. Its recent teaser features the titles of its previous singles “baby blue” and “growing pains,” raising curiosity about their connection. The group, which delivered delicate emotional expression and a refreshing sound through these tunes, is expected to bring fresh charms for its fans worldwide.

MONSTA X has a solid following in the U.S., with several albums – “ALL ABOUT LUV” (2020), “THE DREAMING” (2021)” and “THE X” (2025) – making it onto the Billboard 200 chart. It is also the first K-pop group to join Jingle Ball Tour and has been part of the event four times.

Looking ahead, MONSTA X will continue its “THE X : NEXUS.” After captivating global audiences during its Seoul and Bangkok shows, the group will perform across Asia and Latin America, among other regions, with its next stop scheduled in Malaysia on March 28.

hrtz.wav (Kakao Entertainment)

Kakao Entertainment’ global band hrtz.wav will make its much-awaited debut on April 8 with the EP “The First Wave.”

hrtz.wav, the next icon of the band scene, consists of the five winners from the global band-making project “Steal Heart Club” – Keiten (guitar,) Hagiwa (drum,) Dane (bass,) Riaan (vocals,) and Youn Young-jun (keyboard). Having showcased outstanding instrumental skills and dynamic stage presence during the survival show, all eyes are now on the “full-band synergy” the five members will create together as a team. True to its name, which reveals its ambition to usher in a new wave of band music that resonates with youth, hrtz.wav plans to establish itself as an iconic band reshaping the global music landscape.

Shortly before its official debut, hrtz.wav will kick off its global activity by joining KCON JAPAN 2026 as a special performer in May in Chiba.
