Sept. 16, 2025, SEOUL, KOREA – IDID, a new boy group from Starship Entertainment, has officially landed in the K-pop universe with their debut EP ‘I did it.’ – a bold statement of their intent to break the mold and turn imperfection into brilliance.
‘I did it.’
IDID put out ‘I did it.’ on Sept. 15, heralding the beginning of their ambitious musical adventure. Leading the EP is ‘CHAN-RAN,’ which highlights the group’s bold, unapologetic attitude and the core message that ‘The falls and the scars are still part of me.’ It captures the free-spirited, energetic essence of youth, singing about living each moment positively in one’s own way, unbound by rules or expectations. Set over a lively sound driven by acoustic guitar and rhythmic drums, the members’ fresh and vibrant vocals bring to life the bright and cool youthful vibe.
“Even if I fall down and get hurt, that’s still part of me,” member JEONG SEMIN said during a press event in Seoul. “This represents the direction our team is heading in.”
Also included in the 8-track EP are the pre-debut single ‘STEP IT UP’ that directly sheds light on the group’s instinctive energy and confidence, ‘SLOW TIDE’ that delicately maps the waves of emotion, and ‘ImPerfect’ that embraces imperfection and draws out a sense of pride. ‘So G.oo.D’ channels raw, boiling emotions with candid honesty, while ‘STICKY BOMB’ portrays inner tension on the verge of explosion with both urgency and sincerity. ‘Taking Off – Through Your Dreams’ and ‘Blooming CROWN’ revisit the determination forged during the survival program ‘Debut’s Plan,’ through which the members of IDID were picked after a cutthroat competition.
To encapsulate, the “I did it.” EP is not just a collection of songs – it’s a single flow of eight emotional moments. Each track carries its own mood and texture, but at the core runs a single thread: raw emotion and unrefined energy. Rather than hiding their feelings, IDID speaks through rhythm, turning imperfection itself into style. ‘I did it.’ may not be a perfect first step, but it serves as a documentary of IDID’s unrestrained “now,” capturing the emotions and attitudes of this very moment.
“What sets us apart from other groups is our youthful energy,” PARK SEONGHYEON said.
JANG YONGHOON added, “We aim for a ‘high-end’ refreshing vibe and strive to express a range of emotions in our own instinctive style.”
Grand debut
Consisting of JANG YONGHOON, KIM MINJAE, PARK WONBIN, CHU YOOCHAN, PARK SEONGHYEON, BAEK JUNHYUK and JEONG SEMIN, IDID is the first boy group in nearly five years from Starship Entertainment – home to K-pop stars MONSTA X, IVE and KiiiKiii. The group name, short for ‘I did it,’ reflects their unwavering determination to accomplish anything through hard work.
“Following in the footsteps of our seniors, we are making our debut after five years,” JANG YONGHOON said. “We’re beyond happy to debut and will work hard to become Starship’s next great boy group. Like Coldplay and Bruno Mars, we want to become a group that defines an era. We hope we can also hold world tours and participate in overseas shows to sharpen our performance skills and achieve musical growth.”
BAEK JUNHYUK added, “Another goal of us is to make a strong first impression and win the Rookie of the Year award.”
